Get involved

There are many ways that you can get involved with Sheffield High School. Here are just a few .…

1. Come back and visit the school

We hold events and reunions throughout the year at SHS. To see the full list, visit the Events page. If you’re not able to attend an event, do get in touch and we’ll be delighted to show you around the school another time

2. Make a donation to the Sheffield High School Foundation

Philanthropic donations make a huge difference to current girls. Find out more about supporting our Bursary and Projects Funds on the Sheffield High School Foundation page

3. Become friends with the School on Facebook

Send a friend request to the alumni only Facebook page. Keep up to date with news from the school and get back in touch with friends

4. Organise your own reunion

Andrea Murphy, the School’s Alumni Relations contact, will help you get back in touch with friends and/or organise a tour of the school. Get in touch on a.murphy@she.gdst.net or by telephone on 0114 358 7624

5. Tell us what you’re doing now

It’s really useful for us to know where you’re working and what you’re doing now. We often ask ‘old girls’ to come back to the school to speak to current pupils about their career and ask them to offer advice. You may also want to share your experiences with other GDST pupils and alumnae through the GDST Alumnae Network

6. Follow the school on Twitter

With daily updates on school life, this is the place to go to keep up to date! @SheffieldHigh

7. Get back in touch with your classmates

Sheffield High School offers a ‘find a friend’ service to put you back in touch with classmates that you may have lost contact with over the years. If we have their contact details, we’ll send them a message on your behalf asking them to get in touch (we will never directly give out personal contact details).

8. You can put us in touch with someone else

Do you have friends who don’t hear from the School? Ask them to send us their contact details or fill in the update form so that we can make sure that they receive news and invitations to events and reunions

9. Join our LinkedIn group

The Sheffield High School Alumni and Friends group is a great way of making contact with other former pupils and friends and could help with your next career move

10. Sponsor the School through your business

There are many opportunities to support the School through your business including sponsoring a sports team, sponsoring a new piece of equipment or placing an advert in the Friends of Sheffield High (FOSH) Ball programme.

11. Meet parents of current pupils

Our parents committee FOSH (Friends of Sheffield High) organises social events and raises funds for the school. They organise events throughout the year including a quiz night and a black-tie ball and are always delighted if former pupils are also able to attend. For the full events calendar visit the Events Page

12. Leave a gift to the school in your will

Remembering the School in your will is a simple way of supporting future High School girls and ensuring that the school continues to thrive. Whatever its size, a legacy directly benefits the School, its pupils and staff. Visit the 'Gift in your Will' page for more information
