Projects Fund

Sheffield High School provides a learning environment which aims to develop each girl academically and personally through careful teaching in a happy, civilised and well-equipped school. This is a tradition which has been upheld since the first pupils started in 1878 to the school achieving exceptionally high exam results year on year.

Introducing our new Cookery Room

The development of our new Cookery Room has been possible thanks to the generosity of parents, alumni and friends who have supported the project through the Sheffield High School Foundation. The Foundation is an integral part of ensuring that we are providing the best for our girls while keeping fees as low as possible. Donations at all levels mean that we are able to provide new opportunities for girls that fee income alone would not be able to cover – and the Cookery Room is a wonderful example of this.

“The girls are really enjoying having the opportunity to work in the new Cookery Room. They have shown great enthusiasm for practical lessons and are enjoying using the superb new facility with its top of the range equipment and workstations. I am extremely grateful to all the donors who have made it possible to create such an amazing room and allowed us the opportunity to teach this essential life skill at Sheffield High School.”

Why is funding needed for projects at SHS?

To provide an outstanding education and support for over 50 lunchtime and afterschool clubs, additional funds are needed over and above the income from school fees. The school places a huge priority on ensuring that its fees remain as low as possible and so extra income is needed to make sure that our girls get the most out of their time at school.

Can I make a donation to a specific project?

Yes – if you would like to make a donation to fully fund a specific project, then please get in touch with Andrea Murphy (by email on who can speak to you in more detail about current projects at the school which require funding.

Any support of the Projects Fund that you are able to give will be gratefully appreciated by all of the girls and will make an immediate and lasting difference across the whole school.
