Senior School Uniform


  • Skirt – navy and aqua tartan
  • Skirt (Years 10 and 11 only) – navy
  • Blouse – aqua, long or short sleeved
  • Jumper/Cardigan – navy blue with school logo
  • Blazer – navy with school logo
  • Coat – any navy blue or black but with no logo, fur or decoration (no denim or leather)
  • Fleece (optional) – plain navy blue with school logo
  • Tights/socks – navy blue/black
  • Shoes – low-heeled black. No boots, open toe or slingback sandals to be worn in school. Boots may be worn to school in the snow. Shoes must stay on securely (Not available from Uniform Shop)
  • Overall. Every girl must have a long-sleeved overall for laboratory and practical work. This is a Trust requirement and girls are forbidden from participating in science lessons without one. Available from the school shop
  • Scarf and Gloves (optional) – school or navy scarf and navy blue gloves
  • Hair ribbons/hair bands/scrunchie – navy/jade. Long hair should be tied back. Braids and hair jewellery should not be worn. Hair should be its natural colour
  • House T-Shirt in the girl’s house colour for all house activities throughout the year

Physical Education
Items to be bought from the school shop –

  • Full tracksuit
  • Navy/white PE top
  • Navy skort
  • Navy cycle shorts
  • Navy Hockey socks
  • Fleece – optional
  • White baselayer – optional
  • House T-shirt

The following are required and available in the shop but can be purchased elsewhere –

  • Shin pads
  • White sports socks or white with navy trim

Required but not available from the shop –

  • White trainers
  • Astroturf trainers, preferably white
  • Mouthguard

Leotards and netball dresses can be ordered through the PE department and hockey and athletics vests are available from the shop for girls who participate frequently in extra-curricular clubs and teams in these sports.

Your daughter may wish to purchase and use her own hockey stick and tennis racquet although there is plenty of quality equipment available for class and club use in school.

School rules say that pupils may wear one plain stud in each ear lobe and that these should be silver, gold or in school colours. A wrist watch is permitted, but no other jewellery is allowed.

Second Hand Uniform
FOSH (Friends of Sheffield High) holds regular sales of second-hand uniform. Both Junior and Senior uniform is usually available. These are an ideal opportunity to purchase uniform in excellent condition at 50% of the cost of new.

If you have any outgrown uniform in good condition that you would like to donate, please hand this in to the Junior or Senior School Reception.
