Healthy Eating

We are committed to providing healthy eating for all our girls and we recognise that nutrition profoundly affects pupils’ ability to learn, develop and stay healthy; we follow the Government’s food-based standards for school lunches and all food service. Fresh, chilled water is available during the school day and pupils may drink water from refillable bottles in lessons.

All girls in the Junior School eat school lunch, cooked by our own in-house catering staff, in the Dining Hall which is adjacent to Melbourne House.  Girls can choose from a range of freshly prepared hot and cold meals and there are always vegetarian options.  Special diets can be catered for with support from our Catering Manager.  The views of the students regarding menu choices are taken into consideration through the School Council which meets monthly. Menus run on a 3-weekly cycle. For details, please click here.

Lunch is compulsory from Reception to Year 7 inclusive.  For information on the current charges for lunch, please contact the school.

Meals and refreshments are also available at the Breakfast Club, which is open to families and friends as well as pupils, between 7.30am and 8.30am. Breakfast Club is supervised from 7.30am and our After School Club runs between 3.15pm and 6.15pm.
