    Head’s Weekly News w/c 10.07.2017

As I write my final newsletter of the year, and look back on the events of the past year, it is hard to believe how much the girls and their teachers have managed to fit in. The Y7-9 girls had an assembly on ‘change’ this week where we reflected on some of the major changes which they have experienced this year, how they have all developed and matured, and their own contribution to changes through the feedback they give to School Council, Teaching and Learning Council, Eco Council and through lesson evaluations. They are all looking forward to the major changes to our Old Gym (soon to be the New Gym!) and being able to access the wonderful facilities this will provide. I hope all our Senior School parents will have received the link to the survey which was sent out last week by email (https://goo.gl/forms/AYpm8qYcfogGtItH2) as the feedback and information you provide will help us with any future developments to the school. Infant and Junior parents will be invited to contribute in the Autumn term.

Last week, Mr Hald and I attended the GDST annual conference in London, from which you might have seen some of the media coverage. The theme of the conference focussed on the question ‘A Good Time to be a Girl?’. We heard from some excellent speakers including Helena Morrissey, Head of Personal Investing at Legal and General Management, whose role is aimed at engaging the nation to save and invest more.

    Head's Weekly News w/c 12.06.2017

After a quiet week in school last week, which saw all our Y7-9 and Y12 students with their heads down and completing school exams in all their subjects, I am very pleased to say we are now back to normal with trips and activities aplenty.

    Head's Weekly News w/c 22.05.2017

The mood over the past couple of days has been very sombre in school as we reflect on the events in Manchester. Some of our students and staff have family and friends who were at the arena on Monday evening and our thoughts and prayers are with them.
