Friends of Sheffield High (FOSH)

Welcome to the Friends of Sheffield High School, affectionately known as “FOSH”.

We would like to take this opportunity to give you an overview of the aims of FOSH and how you can help.

FOSH currently has two aims –

  • To organise fund raising events to purchase items for the school
  • To organise social events for both parents and families to enable both parents and staff to meet in a more relaxed environment.

Many parents wonder why we have to raise funds for the School when we are paying school fees. The simple answer is that not everything is covered in the school fees and some things have to be given a low priority by the Girls’ Day School Trust.

We aim to organise three main fund raising events throughout the school year. In November we hold a Christmas Craft Fayre in the Senior School Sports Hall. We also sell good quality Christmas paper and cards at around the same time and in March we hold our annual Spring Ball. All these events are usually well supported by parents.
