Trampolining at the Movement Evening

Sheffield High School PE Department are celebrating reaching the National finals in four different sports in the last twelve months with two (tennis and gymnastics) for the very first time in the school’s history!

Sheffield High School has once again qualified to national school’s trampolining finals for the 9th year running. The teams competed on 17th January in the North Zonal finals. Out of the 5 teams 3 qualified as well as 4 individuals. The U15A and U19A teams both became U15 and U19 North of England Champions. The U15B team just missed out on qualifying coming 3rd by 0.4 of a point. But the U19B team went one better than the U15B team by coming 2nd and qualifying to National finals as well!

If this wasn’t enough success 2 weeks later on January 31st 3 teams travelled to the Yorkshire School’s Floor and Vault Gymnastics Competition. Having never reached National Finals before the teams did not know what to expect, as only one team from each category qualifies to National Finals. Throughout the day all gymnasts performed brilliantly competing floor routines and vaults. Finally at the end of the day we got the results. Sheffield High had qualified to National Finals but not just one team, the U13 and U19 teams both becoming Regional Gymnastics Champions and qualifying to Nationals.

Sheffield High School has had great success nationally over the last year, qualifying to National Finals in 4 different sports, Badminton, Trampolining, Gymnastics and Tennis.
