Bright Ideas from Y10 in the Real Business Challenge!

Year 10 Students at Sheffield High School are celebrating reaching the final of CCE’s Real Business Challenge 2009!

This year groups of pupils (maximum 8) have been asked to pitch to win the contract to design a new education centre for CCE (Coca Cola Enterprises) alongside their bottling plant in Sidcup. Its opening will coincide with the London 2012 Olympics. However, schools from the South East will have the opportunity to visit the centre for many years to come.
The education centre we have designed will consist of a reception area and two adjoining classrooms; it will be used for student visits and activities, but also for hosting CCE’s stakeholders during the Olympics.
As a group, we came up with the name “Bright Ideas™” along with the tagline “Ignite Your Passion”. We thought long and hard about the design of the centre and spent quite a while discussing it, not only between our team, but with other members of the public about what we should include to make it a fun and exciting environment.
We have also planned the launch event and without giving it away, it should be a big hit for all U2 fans!
Everything is aimed to be “E-COKE” friendly and we’ve thought about how our design can be environmentally friendly. It’s all under a tight budget so the aim was to make it look as modern as possible, for the lowest possible cost.
Our headmistress Mrs V A Dunsford said ‘“The Real Business Challenge is an exciting venture for our students and they gain a great deal from taking part. “Bright Ideas” have come up with some excellent ideas and I wish them every success in the competition.”
The real business challenge is developed by Coca Cola Enterprises and is funded by Yorkshire Forward and supported by the Young Peoples Enterprise Forum.
