English Schools Ski Champions take bronze at the British Championships!
English Schools Ski Champions
Once again it was top three in Britain for the Sheffield High School Ski team (our English Schools National Champions) at the British Schoolgirls Championships on snow in Flaine last week – in both Slalom and Combined!
This season has been a fantastic year for the Sheffield High School ski racing teams. Two teams travelled to the Regional Schools Championships in Sunderland early in the season, where the team consisting of Charlotte Burdall, Hannah Parker, Heidi Parker and Kate Wilson achieved first place overall. Year 13 student Hannah also placed first individually to become Regional Champion.
Next up were the English Schools Championships in Stoke. The Under 16 team, comprising of Hannah Burdall, Cassie Fletcher, Olivia Parker and Imogen Yardley achieved second place, and the Under 19 team of Charlotte Burdall, Hannah Parker, Heidi Parker and Kate Wilson placed first to become National Champions. One day later, in the open championships, Hannah came third overall and the team – Hannah and Olivia Parker, Kate Wilson and Imogen Yardley – placed second by only 0.03 of a second and despite Imogen not completing her second run.
At the British Championships in Rossendale on plastic back in November the team of Hannah, Heidi, Olivia and Imogen achieved second place.
