Half Marathon Team!
Staff, girls and parents - the SHS team!
On a very wet Sunday morning, a team of nine Sheffield High School sixth-formers, parents and staff all successfully completed the Sheffield Half Marathon 2008 and they are now on their way to raising £1000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Macmillan Nurses.
The group, consisting of parents Michelle McKenzie-Smith, Tim Douglas and Matt Jukes; teachers Caro Anschütz, Clare Wallace, Paul Mayers, Vin Knowles and Simon Mozley; and the Year 12 school Athletics Captain Rose Paxman, were cheered on by friends, colleagues and relatives as they all ran the course in great times. The thirteen mile route took runners from the Don Valley International Stadium to the streets of the city centre, and then back again for a grandstand finish.
Year 7 pupil Natalia Hackett was also celebrating after winning the girls’ 3 km Great Fun Run which was held on the same morning.
Congratulations to all who took part in the events!
