Master Chefs? SHS Year 13 let loose in the Kitchen!
Watch out Jamie Oliver, Lakhy and Abi prepare to cook up a storm!
In a valiant attempt to avoid living on a diet of baked beans on toast at University, SHS Sixth Formers visited Sheffield College last Thursday for a cooking master class!
The girls enjoyed the opportunity to fine tune their prowess in the kitchen under the careful supervision of the College’s experienced food technology lecturers. Year 13 were provided with basic ingredients and taught how to prepare a range of healthy student food, honing their chopping skills to produce a warming vegetable soup and spicy Chicken Fajitas!
Bringing a touch of the Mediterranean to a cold Sheffield winter the girls were also taught how to prepare a healthy and nutritious Spaghetti Bolognese!
Throughout the evening Chef Gregory and Chef Jean were on hand to answer the girls’ questions and provided them with a long list of hints and tips that are sure to come in handy next year!
Student living has never been so healthy, well done to all the budding chefs that took part!
