Our Annual Movement Evening!
Movement Evening 2008
It was a sparkling SHS night of dance, trampolining and gymnastics………The colourful display of skill, poise and creativity was enjoyed by an audience of over 350 at the Sheffield High School Annual Movement Evening.
The girls ranged in age from 7 to 18 from the various open clubs that take place week in week out. The trampolinists from Year 7 to 13 bounced beginners movements though to National level competition sequences; each senior school year group had at least one dance item as well as additional pieces chosen from an open audition whilst the gymnasts showed several pieces- the junior school gymnastics display, the open club skills and choreography, individual competition sequences and the touring team display which they had recently taken to China on the Sheffield High School Sports Tour.
Speeches were made as the 350 girls came on together in the finale by trampolining captain Megan Gibson and headmistress Mrs Dunsford as the girls were applauded and the senior girls who had choreographed much of the items were presented with roses!
