Running High at Sheffield High!
Jess at the City Championships
Jessica Fawcett and Amy Potter from Sheffield High School take on the rest of the country on Saturday 8 March as they run in the English Schools’ Cross Country National Finals at Sefton Park in Liverpool.
Jessica Fawcett of Carterknowle (aged 18) qualified for the Championships after coming 2ndt in the City Championship race. Jessica is an most experienced athlete who has been part of the highly successful Rotherham Harriers Cross Country team who have a string of medals as proof of their talents including two golds and a bronze at the National AAA Cross Country Finals. This is the fourth time that Jessica has made the English Schools’ where she hopes to achieve a top twenty position in this her final bid!
Amy Potter aged 13 from Millhouses, whose combined School Year 8 & 9 cross-country team came 2nd in the City Championships, has gained her place in the English School Championships for the second time on with her 3rd position in the South Yorkshire Championships.
