The girls' visit to Bonn

From the seven hills of Sheffield to one of the seven continents of the world and Sheffield High School has crossed Europe this year with their educational visits programme!

Apart from the shorter day or weekend trips for fieldwork or sport the senior girls have had the opportunity to travel to:

• Northern France visit for Y8 for a weekend in September
• European Band Tour for ages 11 to 18 at October half term
• Sierre Chevalier for Christmas skiing in France for Sixth Form
• Paris for French Language Development at February half term
• Palma for a Spanish Exchange for Sixth Form Language Development in December
• Bonn, Cologne, Aachen and the Rhine Gorge in Germany at Easter
• Murcia, Spain for Y10&11 Study visit and home stay at Easter
• Business, Art & ICT Sixth Form study visit to Paris at Easter
• Adventurous activities in Spain over Spring Bank for Y7 & 8

There have been homestay visits where the girls live with host families and learn to use the language in the family setting; visits to cities across Europe; language lessons; cooking, sailing, kayaking; tours of business’, key tourist sites and museums; playing in concerts; the favourite shopping and even salsa lessons!

In total over a third of the senior school (approximately 250 from 750) have been abroad with school educational visits during the course of the year! All were very fortunate not to have been interrupted by the volcanic ash! What will the girls be offered next year?
