Sheffield High supports Surveyor Steve!
Supporting Surveyor Steve!
Last week the Junior School pupils presented a cheque to Steve Greenhalgh for £400 to ‘The Guide Dogs for the Blind’ from the whole of Sheffield High School.
Steve Greenhalgh, building surveyor for the GDST (Girls’ Day School Trust), ran the Flora London Marathon 2008 in aid of The Guide Dogs for the Blind who do amazing work in giving blind and partial sighted people freedom and confidence to leave their own homes.
‘They had asked me to raise £1,200 but I set myself a target of £3,000. Both these targets were soon passed and the total is currently standing at £3,958.17’, said Steve as he accepted the cheque from the pupils at Sheffield High School.Steve finished in an official time of 4hours 30 minutes and 51 seconds which he was very pleased with as his original goal when he first started training back in November was to finish in under 5 hours so was delighted with 4 ½ hours especially as it was the first marathon he had a.
