SHS Art Exhibition
Best AS Art & Design in UK!
Not only was it a special evening at Sheffield High School to share outstanding artwork at the end of a busy term, it was also a chance to celebrate the recently awarded Good Schools Guide Award for the top AS results for Art and Design in the country.
Past and present pupils, parents and staff enjoyed the special evening where the work of each GCSE, AS and A level candidate was displayed. Invited guests from the art world also joined the celebrations to wander around the studios to the sounds of a string trio of students and staff.
The Good Schools Guide awards are made based on the results achieved over a three year period and take into consideration the success of the pupils relative to their other examinations. ‘Our aim is to highlight excellent teaching in individual subjects’, said Ralph Lucas, editor of The Good Schools’ Guide
‘The quality of work in the exhibition reflects the wide range of art experience our A level in Art and Design offers the students at Sheffield High School and towards their higher education and careers,’ Head of Department Gabby Hanlon said, ‘We are very proud of this achievement.’
