The ABC of SHS around the world ... Amsterdam, Barbados, Costa Rica, Downtown Paris, Everglades, Florida, Ghost Walks, Havana, Iceland….. as well as the wide variety of visits to local and national places of interest, the pupils at Sheffield High School have travelled far and wide throughout this school year! Girls Get Graphical for Saatchi Gallery! Sheffield High girls have reached a new perception of excellence with their work on show in the Saatchi Gallery website! This is the beginning to a worldwide competition which involved entering students work onto the Saatchi website. Various outstanding pieces were chosen, which were then photographed or scanned and uploaded onto the website. The images can be viewed from all corners of the globe by searching the school name or city and every year a panel of judges will chose the winners. The top prize of £10,000 will be given to the winning pupil’s art department and here at Sheffield High we are determined that the prestigious prize winner is among our exceptional entries! 15 May 2009 Read more...
Natalia gets silver medal in London Mini Marathon! Natalia Hackett, aged 12 from Sheffield High School, was invited to attend the Adidas London Mini Marathon following her third place in the Region in the Inter Counties Cross Country Championship held in March. Due to injury mid March, Natalia was concerned that she may have not been able to run but thanks to the magic of Hallamshire Physiotherapy and her coach, Jamie, she was obviously fit and able by last Sunday. Natalia travelled down the day before with the Yorkshire Team with approximately six runners per age. Not only did she come second in her age group out of the whole of the country, but she also ran an amazing time of 18 minutes across the 3 miles!
