SHS Netball Teams make the Regional Finals in all three age groups!
Smiles all round as U14 & U16 Netball teams qualify for the Regionals!
The netball teams are celebrating after the County Round of the National Schools Competitions as Sheffield High have a team through in every age group!
The Under 14 & 16 Competitions were played first on Saturday 21 November at Tapton School. Each competition was a fierce battle of the very top netball schools in South Yorkshire battling it out for the coveted top two places in South Yorkshire.
The Under 14 age group was clear cut with Silverdale winning all their games to become County Champions and Sheffield High School coming a close second, winning all but the one game – to Silverdale 6-4!
In the Under 16 the story was pretty much the same but in reverse with Sheffield High School winning all games to take the title but the game for the top place was even closer with Silverdale where SHS won in a nail- biter – by one goal!
The Under 18 age group was played on Monday 23 November at the EIS and once again the standard of netball was excellent all round. The results echoed the previous competitions as Sheffield High School won all matches and beat the second place Silverdale 6-3.
All three of our school teams now go forward to the Regional Competition to fight for the Yorkshire and Humberside titles which would give them tickets to the national finals! It is being hosted in the county once again at Wickersley School, Rotherham on January 30th.
