SHS Pupils Stole the Show in Pirate Production!

Pirates of Penzance - General Stanley's Daughters!

A stunning production of the Gilbert & Sullivan classic ‘The Pirates of Penzance’ was performed at Sheffield High School.

Over 51 girls acted, sang and danced in the magnificent performance, which ran for 3 nights in the newly refurbished Senior School Hall. About 28 girls were involved backstage assisting in every area from set design, lighting, choreography and costume, all supervised and assisted by over 20 staff members, whose expertise helped the performances run smoothly every night.

The joint SHS and Birkdale Sixth Form Choir were also involved, forming the cowardly police force chorus, so five Birkdale pupils joined the cast and Aruthiran Ilenkovan took up the role of the Sergeant of Police. The choir members did a fantastic job, raising plenty of laughs with their routines.

The shows were highly praised by parents and audience members and special mention goes to all the pupils in the principal roles, who did a fantastic job in bringing their characters to life:
