SHS U14 Yorkshire Region Badminton Champions
SHS U14 Badminton Yorkshire Champions!
The Sheffield High School Under 14 team are on their way to the National Badminton Finals where they hope to go one better than their National Runners up medals in 2008!
The Sheffield High School teams went to the Yorkshire & Humber Regional Finals of the Schools Badminton Championships last Wednesday at the Hull Badminton Centre. There were some excellent players on show making for some very close and hard fought games. With a huge entry of 152 secondary schools at the start of the competition the contenders had been slimmed down to the final 18 schools who qualified to bring teams to the regional finals.
The Sheffield High School Under 16 team of Hollie Watson, Charlotte Atkin, Jasmine Bailey and Charlotte Edwards came a very creditable third place but the Under 14 team were crowned Yorkshire Champions and represent the region at the National Finals which is to be held on Sunday 26 April at Centr Parcs, Nottingham. They are:
