Sixth Form Open Morning - Saturday 15 November 9.15am for 9.30am
Our newly extended Sixth Form Centre is housed in beautiful premises on Melbourne Avenue
Prospective parents and students are warmly invited to join us for our Sixth Form Open Morning on Saturday 15 November. Please aim to arrive around 9.15am so that we can start the morning’s programme promptly at 9.30am.
Sheffield High School’s Sixth Form has an enviable reputation for its results at A-level. We now boast a 7th Year of a 100% pass rate, with 80% of all passes being at the top grades of A or B. Almost half the year group once again achieved grade A in all their subjects in 2008, with four girls achieving among the highest marks in the country. Our students go on to Oxford, Cambridge and other top universities across the country to study anything from medicine and sciences to law and the performing arts.
Our A-level results are consistently the best in South Yorkshire and growing demand for places means that we need to provide more for our students. As a result, our dedicated Sixth Form Centre is about to benefit from an ambitious and exciting new extension of its facilities.

Consultation with sixth formers has been on-going during the planning phase and the new building will incorporate a large new Learning Resource Centre exclusively for use by sixth formers with key study material, laptop computers, a Virtual Learning Environment and a wealth of careers resources.

But it’s not all work! Our students will also benefit from a new café and kitchen diner in which to relax and unwind with outdoor decked spaces in which to socialise.
We also offer a vast range of enrichment opportunities to our students to enhance their sixth form experience, with girls getting the chance to undertake voluntary work, run their own business in school or even take a beginners course in Mandarin!
Girls travel from far and wide to attend the High School, often making use of the fleet of coaches organised by parents, bringing girls to the High School from all over South and West Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire.
If you are unable to join us for our Open Morning, individual tours and meetings with the Headmistress can be arranged at a time to suit you.
