Sport Relief Mile on our 130th Birthday!

Sheffield High students and staff celebrated the 130th birthday of their school on Friday by taking part in a one mile fun run around the school grounds. In order to take part everyone had to wear an item of red clothing and pay at least £1 in aid of Sport Relief. The run was led by eighteen-year-old Jessica Fawcett, the school’s Athletics Captain, who recently participated in the English Schools Cross Country National Finals at Liverpool after achieving second place in the City Championship race. Deputy Head Simon Mozley and incoming school athletics captain Rose Paxman joined her in leading the way to the finish!

In addition, bake sales were held in the school throughout the week to raise money for Bluebell Wood, and daffodils (the school flower) were collected by the girls to be taken to the Hospice. In total over £500 was raised for Bluebell Wood and over £400 for Sport Relief.
