Careers Fair at Sheffield High

‘Standing out from the Crowd’ isn’t easy but a bit of help from the experts is always welcome. Pupils from local independent schools were offered that help when they attended a careers fair held at Sheffield High School just before the half term break.

A buzz of voices from the Hall and bustle around the buildings described the Careers fair at Sheffield High School masterminded by Head of Careers Jenny Ashby. The evening was a resounding success as parents and pupils both boys and girls chatted to the experts about Higher Education and gleaned ideas from local business about future careers.

The delegates said “ They were so impressed with the enthusiasm and politeness of the pupils and that they felt their visit was so worthwhile.” They were impressed by the organization “better than the Arena” was the quote from Keele University.

Over 80 different organizations came to give their advice including Sydney Sussex college Cambridge, local Sheffield universities , Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle, all came alongside business advisers from local companies such as Gripple, Scott Wilson, Siemens to name a few. We need to encourage our Young High Fliers to aim for the top and this evening certainly set them on the road to personal success.
