The Big Draw

The ninth national ‘Big Draw’ took part from 1st to 31st October 2008. Even more adventurous venues decided to participate this year; including hospitals, museums, Girl Guide groups and even Sheffield High School!

Sheffield High School decided to take part in the campaign from 13th-17th October. A large roll of paper was provided and over one hundred pupils and staff put their pencils to paper and expressed their individuality through the chosen theme of ‘Past, Present and Future’. Materials used to create the masterpiece included pencils, charcoal, sand, clay, coloured crayons, wax and photography.

The art club at Sheffield High School ‘Artists in the Making’, run by sixth formers Daisy Curtis and Laura Wells; initiated the decision for the school to take part in the campaign. The whole school was very impressed with the vibrant outcome and cannot wait to begin doodling ideas ready for next year’s project.
