Top Award for Half Marathon
Lady Mayoress presenting award to Simon Mozley
Sheffield High School received an award from the Trustees of the Sheffield Half-Marathon for raising nearly £1200 for the nominated charities. The team of parents, students and teachers raised the largest amount of sponsorship money by any group and Deputy Head, Simon Mozley, collected the award from the Lord Mayor at the awards ceremony at the Don Valley Stadium, on behalf of the team.
The team of experienced and first-time runners all completed the 13 mile course and were supported along the way by girls, parents and fellow staff. Their fund-raising efforts brought to £58,000 the total raised for charity by the school in the last 3 years.
Simon Mozley said, “This was a fantastic example of all members of the school community working together to support local charities”.
