From Clarkehouse Road, access to the school entrance is via Rutland Park, where there is an unofficial one-way policy in a clockwise direction. Parents should be aware that this route becomes extremely congested at the beginning and end of the school day, and finding a place to park can be very difficult. Parking in the immediate vicinity of the School can be difficult at times, but the safety of all our children must be paramount.
Road safety, particularly on Melbourne Avenue, is an ongoing concern. We do ask parents not to bring cars on to Melbourne Avenue and cars parked on the grass verges or side of the road and turning round in the driveways of the Infant and Junior School buildings are potentially very dangerous safety risks to the children as they walk to and from school. We ask that parents only park in designated bays or use non-permit holder parking bays on surrounding roads.
We also ask parents not to block neighbours’ driveways or sound their horns to attract their daughter’s attention. Please show consideration when parking or picking up your daughters from school. Please could parents not park in the staff car parks on Rutland Park as we do not have enough room to accommodate extra cars.
Our walking bus scheme operates from the main school entrance on Rutland Park where Infant and Junior school parents can drop their daughters safely and easily and sixth formers will escort the girls through the school grounds to Melbourne House.
