Yes Chef!
Chef Gregory instructs Mrs Dunsford and Year 9
The year nine students at Sheffield High School have been challenged in the kitchens of Sheffield College working as sous chefs!
The school has worked in partnership with Sheffield College to provide this opportunity in their newly opened catering and hospitality facilities at the Castle College Site. Chef Gregory Rogers divided the 13/14 year old girls into groups and gave tasks and the basic raw materials so that each class of 23 produced a meal for 25-30 people. This included:
• Breaded garlic mushrooms, served on a bed of lettuce with vinaigrette dressing
• Chicken stir fry with crispy oriental noodles and prawn crackers
• Chocolate fudge cake served with raspberry coulis and whipped cream
The students at Castle College then practised their silver service techniques to serve the three course meal back to the Sheffield High students who had prepared it!
