School Governing Board
Sheffield Girls’, part of the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), is governed by the GDST Council and supported locally by a dedicated School Governing Board. The SGB, whose Chair is appointed by the Council, comprises experts who serve as ambassadors and advisors, offering guidance to ensure quality education and opportunities for our pupils. While the GDST Council oversees the overall governance of the Trust, the SGB collaborates with the Head and the Senior Leadership Team to implement strategy, promote the school and monitor performance.
Our Governors
Mrs Kathryn Boulton-Pratt
Kathryn recently retired (early) after spending 30 years in education. Prior to that, she worked for the National Westminster Bank before university and had three years as an Analytical Chemist after graduating from Manchester University. The last 19 years of her career were spent at Sheffield Girls’, as Head of Chemistry, Head of Science and then Assistant Head (Academic).
Kathryn is passionate about ‘girls only’ education and providing opportunities for individuals to fulfil their potential in whatever field they choose. Whilst her own area is Science, she always looked for opportunities for students across different disciplines, and still does. Kathryn would like to think that she has made the most of the chances that have come her way so far and was both honoured and humbled to be named as one of the WISE 20 in December 2020.
Mrs Amy Bouchier
Amy serves as the Communications and Marketing Director at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. Prior to this role, she held a similar position at Sheffield Girls’ and the GDST.
