At Sheffield Girls’ Sixth Form, the EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) forms a key part of our Year 12 curriculum. Worth up to half an A Level in UCAS points the vast majority of our Year 12 students elect to undertake an EPQ and conduct their own independent research project, equipping them with essential skills needed to excel at university and beyond.

At Sheffield Girls’ every pupil gets to explore the subjects they love. Whether it’s Physics or Philosophy, Fine Art or Further Mathematics, our students are empowered to follow their passions and explore their strengths, not restricted by a priori gender stereotypes or unconscious bias.

At Sheffield Girls’, we believe in bespoke pupil support from the very start of your daughter’s journey. Our all-through approach means that girls can begin their journey with us at age four and continue to thrive through to Sixth Form, supported by a community that truly understands how girls learn and grow.

At Sheffield Girls’ we offer Biology, Chemistry and Physics as separate GCSEs because depth matters. Studying the single sciences gives pupils more curriculum time in each subject, more practical investigation and a stronger conceptual grounding.

Over the last 20 years, I have seen the co-curricular life of the school shift, evolve and blossom into a thriving programme which sees countless girls benefit from engaging in a fulfilling life beyond the classroom. From rehearsals before school, to lunchtime clubs, to after school sports fixtures, every day at Sheffield Girls’ pupils take the opportunity to step outside their comfort zone, discover new interests and build the confidence that stays with them long after they leave school.
