Emily Booth
Partnerships Director, Autotrader
Class of 2015
University:
BA Business Management and Marketing, Nottingham Trent University
Can you outline the key stages of your career so far?
I Graduated from Nottingham Trent University in Business Management with Marketing in 2019 gaining a 1st. Whilst at university I completed a third year placement with BMW UK in the Product team in 2017. I secured one of 5 places to return to BMW UK full time once I graduated.
After joining BMW in 2019 I worked there for 6 years, as Retailer Marketing Assistant, Area Sales Manager for central and south west, then BMW & MINI product manager for Ireland.
I have recently left BMW UK to join Autotrader as Partnerships Director, looking after our manufacturer partnerships like BMW, Mercedes and MG.
What single thing do you love most about your career?
The automotive industry is a very male dominated place, I’ve really enjoyed being able to forge my own career in this sector and be respected for my ideas, strategies and collaboration with others. The network that I’ve developed from manufacturers to retailers has been second to none and what you find is your paths always cross in the future.
Have you received any awards or commendations or been involved in any unique projects or developments?
In 2025, I was acknowledged in the Autocar Great Women Awards for making an outstanding contribution to the marketing space in automotive.
At BMW I was at the forefront of launching new electric models to the market. With the government policies around electric car ownership, we used the recent launch of the iX3 to contribute to legislation. The car recently won a WhatCar? award for Car of the Year.
What piece of advice would you give to our pupils as they look at our alumnae stories and consider their own future careers?
Work hard. Take every opportunity in your stride. Be determined to be the best version of yourself. Make yourself stand out from others.
I was never that academic at school, I had incredible help from the teachers at Sheffield High and the support of my parents. I studied very hard to get the grades I got, and this continued into my university degree and career. In an incredibly competitive work environment, students need to have experiences that set them apart, that starts with strong grades but also really valuable, relevant work experience.
Are you involved in any groups, campaigns, programmes with a particular focus on women?
Not specific to only women, but I am a mental Health First Aider and organised a club at BMW related to wellbeing, hosting talks and organising fitness classes and other initiatives.
