What was your journey after leaving Sheffield Girls’?

After completing my A Levels at Sheffield Girls’ in 2018, I stayed on for a year to work as a Lab Technician in the science department while also coaching the school’s gymnastics and trampolining teams.

In 2020, I pivoted into the corporate world by undertaking a Digital Marketing Apprenticeship at a marketing consultancy, a pivotal period during which I also founded my own business, Stag Leotards. I spent the next three years balancing both worlds, continuing to hone my skills at the consultancy until 2024, when I officially made the leap to leave my marketing role and pursue Stag Leotards full-time.

What do you love most about your job?

The thing I love most about my job is the freedom I have, both creatively and professionally. I love creating new, unique leotard designs, as well as different ways to market these on our social media, whilst working my own hours! It is so fun to work in the industry of the sport (gymnastics) I have been participating in since I was 5 – and now I get to compete wearing my own leotard designs!

Excitingly, next year we will have a Stag Leotards stall at the British Gymnastics Championships, held in Liverpool each year.

What is one piece of advice you would give to current Sheffield Girls’ pupils?

One piece of advice I would give to pupils would be to not compare what everyone else is doing after A Levels to what you want to do – university isn’t for everyone and there is more than one path to finding a job that you are happy in.
