The Next 150 Campaign
For nearly 150 years, Sheffield Girls’ has been a beacon of opportunity, empowering talented young women to thrive regardless of their background.
As we approach our 150th anniversary in 2028, we are renewing that commitment by ensuring that more girls can benefit from a Sheffield Girls’ education for generations to come.
The Next 150 Campaign is our ambitious appeal to raise £1 million to strengthen our Bursary Fund.
Together, we aim to increase the number of pupils receiving bursary support from 1 in 11 today to at least 1 in 7, ensuring that financial circumstances never stand in the way of talent and potential.
Investing in opportunity – today and for the future
Every gift to The Next 150 Campaign supports our vision of a more accessible Sheffield Girls’.
Donors can choose to support:
Immediate bursary funding
Gifts to our Bursary Fund provide financial support for pupils who need it now. They enable talented girls to benefit immediately from exceptional teaching, outstanding pastoral care, enrichment opportunities and the confidence that comes from belonging to the Sheffield Girls’ community.
The Bursary Endowment
Gifts to our Bursary Endowment are invested to create a permanent source of income for future bursary awards. Rather than funding a single generation of pupils, the endowment will provide sustainable support in perpetuity, ensuring that Sheffield Girls’ can continue widening access long beyond our 150th anniversary.
By supporting both immediate need and long-term sustainability, every donation helps transform lives today while securing opportunities for future generations of Sheffield Girls’.
Why bursaries matter
A bursary is far more than financial support. It opens doors to exceptional education, lifelong friendships, inspiring teachers and opportunities that can change the trajectory of a young person’s life.
Today, 57% of pupils receiving bursaries benefit from a full transformational award, and every year we receive around 100 applications from families who believe in the power of a Sheffield Girls’ education. Yet, with current resources, we are only able to support around 10% of applicants.
Our ambition is to change that.
