Supporting busy parents
At Sheffield Girls’ we provide consistent communications and regular wraparound activities before and after school to support busy families, so that you can choose various options to suit your schedule.
Along with providing an exceptional education in an unrivalled setting, we understand that there are other considerations when thinking about school options for your daughter, including flexibility around the school day.
We know that the ‘9-5’ is rarely 9-5, and our wraparound activities are not only designed to work around busy working lives, but also to extend and enrich your daughter’s learning.
We offer a supervised Breakfast Club in our Dining Hall from 7.30am which is free of charge and gives parents the reassurance and flexibility to drop off their daughters at the beginning of the day and avoid rush hour.
A range of healthy hot and cold breakfast items and drinks are available to purchase and parents and carers are welcome to stay to share a meal.
After-school care is available daily from 3.30pm until 6pm for our Infant and Junior pupils and is provided by Rattle and Roll. Bookings can be made in advance or on the day via their website.
Pupils are spoilt for choice at Sheffield Girls’ when it comes to after-school clubs. We host a range of sports and activity sessions, most of which run until 4.15pm after which pupils can be escorted to Tea Time Club if needed.
Our clubs allow our pupils to explore and have fun outside the classroom with children from outside their class or year group, whilst providing additional support for parents who might be juggling work schedules and other responsibilities.
Supporting Busy Parents
School communications are brief, succinct and tailored to each pupil’s year group to help busy parents quickly identify essential information related to their daughter’s life at school. Infant and Junior mailings are sent every Friday at 4pm meaning parents know what to expect and when to expect it.
Our online intranet and mobile app, Firefly, is our one-stop shop for essential parent information including co-curricular timetables, lunch menus and teacher contact details.
We share regular updates from life at Sheffield Girls’ on our social media feeds: Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, so parents can keep up to date with what’s going on during the school day.
Just remembered that question you wanted to ask during parent’s evening? No time to pop into school? You’ll have a direct email address for your daughter’s teacher so you can get in touch at a time to suit you.
We try to set activities and dates as far in advance as possible to help families manage busy diaries.
Talk to us in advance about options to support you with pick up if you have to be in two places at once!
Forget the late night chore of packing lunches. School dinners are included in the fee for Infant and Junior pupils and breakfast and after-school snacks are available each day.
