There were celebrations across Sheffield Girls’ today as our Class of 2026 received an outstanding set of A Level results and prepared to take their next steps into university, further study and life beyond school.
This year, an impressive 59% of all grades were awarded at A*- A, 82% at A*- B and 93% at A*- C.
Among a host of individual successes, 11 students achieved straight A* grades, while 28 students, more than a third of the entire cohort, achieved straight A*s and As. Two students achieved an exceptional four A* grades.
But, as ever at Sheffield Girls’, Results Day is about much more than statistics.
Our Class of 2026 leaves us for an extraordinarily diverse range of destinations and courses, from Medicine and Veterinary Science to Architecture, Engineering, Politics, International Relations, the Humanities and creative disciplines.
Head Alex Wilson said:
“Results Day is always a very special moment for our school community and I could not be prouder of this remarkable group of young women. Behind every grade is an individual story: years of hard work, determination and curiosity, alongside the encouragement of teachers, friends and families who have supported them along the way.
“What makes me particularly proud is the breadth of their achievements. They have contributed enormously to the life of Sheffield Girls’ and leave us as confident, thoughtful and ambitious young women. We are tremendously excited to see what they do next.”
From Sheffield Girls’ to Oxford
One student beginning an exciting new chapter is Freya, who achieved 3 A*s and has secured a place to study History and Politics at the University of Oxford.
A member of our Head Girl Team and Politics subject prefect, Freya is one of nine members of the Class of 2026 progressing to courses related to Politics and International Relations, with destinations also including King’s College London and UCL.
Her success comes as History and Politics subjects enjoy a resurgence in popularity nationally, highlighting the continuing importance of the Humanities alongside STEM subjects in preparing young people for a rapidly changing world.
Freya is also one of our Melbournians, pupils who have been part of Sheffield Girls’ from Reception right through to Year 13.

“It is particularly encouraging to see the growing interest nationally in subjects such as Politics and History. In an increasingly complex world, young people need the ability to think critically, understand different perspectives, challenge ideas and communicate with clarity and confidence.
“Freya embodies that brilliantly. Securing a place at Oxford to study History and Politics is an exceptional achievement and reflects both her academic ability and a genuine curiosity about the world around her.
“It is made all the more special because Freya is one of our Melbournians. We have had the privilege of watching her grow from a four-year-old beginning her school journey into the thoughtful, articulate and ambitious young woman leaving us today.”
Marvellous Melbournians
Freya is part of a particularly special group within this year’s leavers.
Our Melbournians have spent their entire school lives at Sheffield Girls’, beginning in Reception and completing their journey together in Sixth Form. Between them, this year’s group achieved an impressive 10 A* grades, 14 As and 11 Bs.
They include Head Girl Aanya, who achieved three A* grades and has secured a place to study Medicine at UCL, alongside Millie who achieved 3 grade As and heads to University of Bath, also for Medicine.
Their achievements are a wonderful reflection of an all-through Sheffield Girls’ education and the relationships built between pupils, families and staff over many years.
Four sisters, one Sheffield Girls’ story
For one Sheffield family, today marks the end of an especially long chapter.
Sylvie Radatz is the fourth sister in her family to leave Sheffield Girls’, following Suzannah, Class of 2021, and Stephanie and Sophie, both Class of 2024.
Sylvie achieved an outstanding three A* grades and has secured her place to study Medicine at the University of Leicester.
Together, the four sisters have now achieved an extraordinary eight A* grades, three As and one B at A Level, all going on to study either medicine or veterinarian sciences.

“There is something incredibly special about celebrating Sylvie’s results today, knowing that she is the fourth Radatz sister to leave Sheffield Girls’.
“What I love most about their story is that it captures what we mean when we talk about the Sheffield Girls’ family. We build relationships with whole families, share in the milestones along the way and remain enormously proud of our girls long after they have left us. To have been part of the journeys of four sisters from one family is a real privilege.”
Future vets, engineers and architects
Medicine and Dentistry remain popular choices for Sheffield Girls’ leavers, but this year three students are also preparing for careers in Veterinary Medicine.
Deputy Head Girl Charlotte, who achieved A*AA, and Hena, who achieved AAB, will both study Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at the University of Nottingham.
Lizzie achieved an exceptional three A* grades and will study Veterinary Medicine at the University of Bristol, having secured a highly competitive place sponsored by the British Army Veterinary Corps.
This is also a particularly creative cohort, with ten students progressing towards Architecture, Urban Planning and Engineering-related courses.
Among them, Eva achieved A*A*A, while Jae-Hui achieved an exceptional four A* grades and Anjali achieved A*A*A*A.
Their destinations and courses range from Architecture to Aerospace, Civil and Mechanical Engineering, demonstrating once again the ambition of our pupils to combine creativity, problem-solving and technical expertise.
Ready for what comes next
This year’s results conclude another exceptional academic year for Sheffield Girls’, during which the school was named Independent Secondary School of the Year in the North in The Sunday Times Parent Power 2026.
Most importantly, however, today belongs to our pupils.
Whether they joined us in Sixth Form or have spent 14 years growing up as part of our school community, each member of the Class of 2026 leaves with her own story, ambitions and plans for the future.
We are enormously proud of everything they have achieved and look forward to welcoming them back in the years ahead as members of our alumnae community.
