Insight Into Teaching 2019

Sheffield Girls’ is delighted to launch its 2019 Insight Into Teaching programme, running from Monday 17 - Friday 21 June. The programme is open to all and will consist of a fully immersive five-day experience at Sheffield Girls’ including:

  • Teacher, form and department classroom experience (Infant, Junior and Senior School)
  • Full training day including sessions on what makes an outstanding teacher and surviving your first year in teaching
  • Employability Skills Clinic guided by a dynamic, education-led life coach
  • Highly interactive think-tank session on the most forward-thinking teaching and learning techniques

The programme is designed to provide potential teachers with a real taste of the classroom and a greater appreciation of the wider world of education. It is aimed at students currently applying for a PGCE or considering teaching as a career (either primary or secondary).

“I found the first induction day really useful and insightful and it was great to be involved in and observe classes including practical science lessons. It was also really useful to be able to talk in depth to teachers from the department for a couple of hours”, 2018 attendee.

If you are interested in applying for a place, please email enquiries@she.gdst.net with full contact details plus your current course/employment details. You will be required to complete an Application Form and successful applicants will be informed by the end of March.
