Our artists at Sheffield Young Artists exhibition
Seven Sheffield Girls’ pupils were selected by the prestigious Sheffield Young Artists Competition to have their amazing artwork displayed as part of Art in the Gardens this September.
The pieces were selected from over 600 entries from schools across Sheffield. Due to the Young Artist exhibition being cancelled, a selection of winning and runners up pieces were displayed at Art in the Gardens.
Among the artists chosen from Sheffield Girls’ was Year 5 pupil Sapphire Billing, who “was thrilled” to see her artwork as part of the exhibition and “even had people taking pictures of her artwork”. Year 4 Harriet Addy’s picture of a meadow was also included, and she was delighted by the exhibition.
Art in the Gardens is one of the largest outdoor markets in the North of England, and showcases artists and craft makers from all over the country. TheSheffield Young Artists Display is the largest annual young persons art exhibition in the country, and is part of the thousands of pieces of art spread across the Botanical Gardens, just across the road from Sheffield Girls’.
Congratulations girls, and we hope you keep creating!
