#PressforProgress

Last week saw the girls, from our youngest in the Infants right through to Sixth Form, involved in activities celebrating International Women’s Day. With the theme of #PressforProgress several girls contributed to a double page article in the Sheffield Telegraph where they were interviewed on gender equality.

The Year 11 GCSE Religious Studies students were excited to link up via Skype with former President of Ireland Mary McAleese at the Voices of Faith Conference in Rome, contributing to the debate on sexism in the church. Talking to many of the girls it is clear that they recognise the benefits of attending an all-girls school where they do not face any discrimination or gender stereotypes and are able to follow whatever their interests and to develop self-belief and confidence for the future.
