Here at Sheffield Girls’ we place huge importance on curiosity, challenge and debate and introduce our pupils, from a young age, to informed discussion, building their confidence to question, think critically and engage meaningfully with the world around them.
We are therefore delighted to announce that on Friday 26th June we will be welcoming BBC Radio 4’s flagship Any Questions? programme which will be broadcast live from our Trinity Building.
Sheffield has increasingly established itself as a national hub for thoughtful public debate, from the internationally recognised Festival of Debate to the world famous DocFest annual event, and the inclusion of one of the UK’s most respected current affairs programmes is a welcome addition to this year’s schedule.
Hosted each week on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds by journalist and broadcaster Alex Forsyth, Any Questions? attracts an audience of around 1.5 million listeners and is renowned for lively discussion on the political, social and cultural issues shaping the national conversation. Panels regularly include prominent voices from politics, business, science, the arts, law and public life.
Advance registration is now open to members of the public and tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis:

Audience members attending the event will have the opportunity to submit questions for possible inclusion in the live broadcast. Panellists will be confirmed by the BBC on the evening of the programme.
Doors will open at 18:30, with the live broadcast taking place from 20:00 to 21:00.
Alex Wilson, Head of Sheffield Girls’, said: “It is a real privilege for Sheffield Girls’ to host such a prestigious national programme. Debate, curiosity and courageous thinking are central to our ethos and to the education we provide every day. Welcoming Any Questions? to our school reflects our commitment to developing informed, confident young people who are ready to engage thoughtfully with the world around them.
“We are delighted to welcome visitors from across Sheffield and beyond for what promises to be a fascinating evening of discussion and democratic engagement.”
