Sheffield High Cross Country Team to represent Sheffield in the South Yorkshire Championships

It’s congratulations to the Sheffield High School cross country team on their fantastic performances in the Sheffield School League races this season and their selection to represent Sheffield in the South Yorkshire Championships in Barnsley.

The team, consisting of Olivia Hogan, Pippa Dakin, Saskia Huxham, Mia Harrison and Rebecca Dancer have performed consistently well throughout the 2012-2013 season and the results for each girl in her age group are as follows –

  • 13 October at High Hazels Park: Saskia Huxham 1st, Rebecca Dancer 5th, Mia Harrison 6th, Olivia Hogan 14th and Carmen Levine 17th
  • 17 November at Bannerdale: Olivia Hogan 9th, Mia Harrison 14th and Carmen Levine 16th
  • 1 November at Castle Dyke: Saskia Huxham 1st, Pippa Dakin 7th, Olivia Hogan 8th, Carmen Levine 12th and Mia Harrison 15th
  • 15 December at Longley Park: Saskia Huxham 1st, Rebecca Dancer 5th and Pippa Dakin and Olivia Hogan 10th
  • 14 January at Norfolk Park: Saskia Huxham 1st and Olivia Hogan 7th

At the South Yorkshire championships all the girls were part of the Sheffield Schools Team. After qualifying to represent Yorkshire in the Inter Counties Championships, Saskia Huxham continued her fine form by winning the Year 7 Girls race by 8 seconds from Mia Taylor who was running for Rotherham Schools. Mia Harrison also ran well to finish in 26th place.

Well done also to Olivia Hogan who came 12th in the Years 8/9 race and to Pippa Dakin who came 16th in the Years 10/11 race.
