Sheffield High’s Ifza wins university scholarship
Ifza Tindall from Sheffield High School has been announced as the winner of the Girls’ Day School Trust’s (GDST) 2013 Frederica Lord University Scholarship.
As part of the award, Ifza receives financial support each year for three years at university and, in return, she will be asked to write a letter to the GDST each year with a report of her progress.
Ifza, who is taking A-levels this summer in Economics, English Language and Geography and who hopes to study economics at Newcastle University said, “The School has helped me enormously through subject support ‘clinics’ at lunchtime, through after school lessons and with email support whenever I needed it.”
The scholarship was instituted by Christopher Fildes in memory of his wife, Frederica Lord. Mr Fildes is an occasional adviser to the Trust and was for nine years a Trustee of the GDST.
