At Sheffield Girls’ we have been welcoming girls from all backgrounds since our foundation in 1878. Our unwavering commitment to this founding principle is at the heart of everything we do, and is made possible through our Bursary Fund and the philanthropic support of our community.
Each year approximately 1 in 9 girls in the Senior School receives financial support to attend, which equates to around 75 girls who have some help with fees. On average each year, over 50% of these girls receive a transformational fully-funded Bursary Award.
The need for support is greater than ever, and we are receiving more bursary applications from ever higher-calibre candidates. Our Bursary Fund enables us to continue to offer places to girls from across Sheffield and South Yorkshire, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Put simply, bursaries can and do change lives.
Alumnae Network
Relationships forged at Sheffield Girls’ last a lifetime and many former students, staff and parents maintain close links with the school and each other. We run events, support networks and help former students and their families keep in touch with the school and one another.
Our Alumnae Network offers a hugely valuable resource to our Sixth Form students, and we appreciate each and every member of our community who supports us whether that is by sharing their story, taking part in panel discussions or providing career advice - to name a few examples!
All members of our Alumnae Network are warmly welcome back at school at any time, we run events for our alumnae throughout the year and are here to help with putting you in touch with old friends and arranging reunions too.

At Sheffield Girls’, we are proud to be part of our wider local community and we take our responsibilities in this area very seriously.
We have forged strong links with local businesses, organisations and schools, and we are very willing to share our expertise and facilities where appropriate. We run a number of programmes and initiatives that support this goal.
