Bursaries at Sheffield Girls: The gift of opportunity
Sheffield Girls' is committed to educating girls from all backgrounds and this is possible thanks to donations from alumnae, former staff and friends to the Sheffield Girls' Bursary Fund.
Our aim, as we approach our 150th anniversary in 2028, is to honour the pioneering equitable vision of our School's founders and grow our endowment by £1million. This figure represents the amount needed to secure in perpetuity a new fully-funded Bursary Award place each year.
Raising funds for bursaries, for both immediate need and building our endowment fund, is the focus of the fundraising that we undertake. Our thanks to all those in our community who support bursaries and thereby give the gift of opportunity and change young people’s lives for the better.
Hear from two of our recent Bursary Award holders...
Lene's Story
Lene is part of the class of 2023. She joined Sheffield Girls' in Year 7 as a Bursary Award recipient and was proud to be a Bursary Ambassador throughout her time in Sixth Form. In the video below Lene shares with us a bit about her time at school and her aspirations for the future.
Ella's Story
Ella was Head Girl of the class of 2022. She joined Sheffield Girls' in Year 12 as a Bursary Award recipient and like Lene, she chose to be a Bursary Ambassador throughout her time in the Sixth Form. While she was at Sheffield Girls', Ella shared with us what her experience was of settling into a new school and her aspirations for the future.

Sheffield Girls’ families, alumnae and friends have already been hugely generous and we are immensely grateful for their support. You can contribute in many ways to support the growth of the Bursary Fund and help transform a girl’s life through a Sheffield Girls’ education.
With financial support
All gifts are processed by the Girls’ Day School Trust (charity number 306983) and are allocated directly to the school.
100% of every donation, including Gift Aid, will go directly to our girls. You can make a gift via the link above or with a donation form (download here).
