A double win in the Routes To Languages Modern Languages Translation Bee
Tuesday 6 June saw two of our Year 8 students, Nawar Hussain and Ashwini Garneti, win the regional heats of the Modern Languages Translation Bee competition, Nawar in French and Ashwini in Spanish. Mara Sergienko in Year 8 competed for German and also did very well indeed.
The aim of the competition is to translate as many sentences as possible, accurately and within a strict time limit. The girls are now looking forward to representing the school and region in the national finals at Cambridge University in July.
Congratulations go to the girls!
