Beyond the School Day
At Sheffield Girls’, we provide an extensive programme of co-curricular activities and support beyond the school day to support busy families and working parents. From 7.30am to 5.30pm, girls are welcome to stay at school to grab breakfast, participate in a range of clubs or catch-up on homework.
Co-curricular and Sport
With over 80 clubs and sports running weekly, many girls opt to bookend their school days by going to clubs, societies, rehearsals, sports practices and more. From Plant Club to Gymnastics, Chamber Choir to Enterprise Club, our extensive co-curricular programme ensures our students’ learning, enrichment, and development isn’t confined to the hours of the school day.
Breakfast Club
Food and refreshments are available in the dining hall situated on Melbourne Avenue, near the Junior School, from 7.30am every morning. Parents and carers are welcome to join in for a quick bite before a busy day.
Homework Club
Pupils can stay after school to devote time to homework tasks or revision. Between 3.40pm and 5.30pm every Monday to Friday during term time, pupils can work in the Library and access Chromebooks and reference books there to assist them.
Homework Club is supervised by Sixth Form pupils (overseen by a member of staff) and there is no charge for attending.
Parent communications
School communications are brief, succinct and tailored to each pupil’s year group to help busy parents quickly identify essential information related to their daughter’s life at Sheffield Girls’. Communications are sent daily at 4pm meaning parents know what to expect and when to expect it and a record of all communications is accessible via our parental Firefly login.
Online resources
Our online intranet and mobile app, Firefly, is our one-stop shop for essential parent information including co-curricular timetables, lunch menus, department information and teacher contact details.
Keeping in touch
We share regular updates from life at school on our social media feeds: Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, so parents can keep up to date with what’s going on during the school week.
