Alumnae Profiles

Our alumnae represent a huge range of careers and professions and we’ve captured some of these through our alumnae profiles. Detailing their own stories, professional challenges and achievements our alumnae have reflected on their time at school and the advice that they would give to current pupils now.

We are grateful that so many choose to share their journeys with us to inspire and encourage our current pupils. We love to hear what you’ve been doing since leaving Sheffield Girls’ – please do get in touch to share your story and let us know if you’d like to get involved with our careers programme.

Our Alumnae Network offers a hugely valuable resource to our students, and we appreciate each and every member of our community who supports us whether that is by sharing their story, taking part in our ‘Live lunch’ sessions with Senior School students, panel discussions or providing career advice

Alumnae Events

As a member of our Alumnae Network we warmly welcome you to come back to school at any time to have a tour, share your news with us or simply enjoy a cup of tea together.

In March each year we celebrate the School’s birthday and welcome alumnae, staff and friends to join us for an afternoon of pupil performances, refreshments and tours of the school.

Our popular ‘One Year Out’ event is a fantastic opportunity for us to celebrate our newest alumnae as they head out into the world of University, apprenticeships and work.

Reunions are a great way to reconnect with school friends, and we are here to help in any way we can. If you are planning a reunion, please do get in touch with Rosslyn Owen – r.owen@she.gdst.net – so she can offer support, and tours of the school if desired.

Digital Archive

Sheffield High School for Girls was founded in 1878 by four women with a vision for improving education for girls.

We have begun to digitise the School’s archive materials – including photographs, school magazines from 1880-1948 and even the Armistice Pageant from 1920 presented to the then Headmistress, Miss Aitken.

Our ambition is to continue to add to this resource and we hope you enjoy exploring the materials digitised so far.
