Erin in the UK Power of 10 rankings for Athletics
Congratulations this week to another of our athletes – Year 7 student Erin Lobley has been hitting the heights in the UK Power of 10 British Athletics Rankings.
Erin has just competed in one of the English Athletics League meetings, where she won the 200m and Shot Put, and was placed 2nd in the Long Jump.
These are great achievements in themselves, however, the points that Erin attained from these events mean that she is currently ranked 1st in the country for Shot, 2nd for 200m and Pentathlon and 3rd for Long Jump!
Erin is naturally delighted about this, although she says the achievement that makes her the most proud is that she is ‘currently ranked 12th on the all-time Pentathlon ratings which is headed by athletes who have gone on to represent GB in the Olympics.’
What is even more exciting is the fact that Erin’s rankings are in an age category a year above her actual age. Well Done Erin!
