Y3 learn the Secrets of Ancient Egypt
In January, at our Junior School, Year 3 kick-started their new topic on Ancient Egypt by spending a day at Weston Park Museum.
The day began by looking at two genuine mummies and making inferences from their cases. This was followed by having a go at mummifying 'Fred', a gruesome process overseen by Year 3's very own 'chief embalmer'.
Other activities involved creating shabti dolls to take to the afterlife, learning to write in hieroglyphics and listening to an Ancient Egyptian myth.
A wonderful day was had by all and Year 3 cannot wait to explore more about this fascinating period of history!
